Engine World Ltd supply only the best quality used or reconditioned engines and transmissions and in order to ensure high standards, all units are tested and individually inspected by our trained engineers.

However, they are complex mechanical machines and function as part of a vehicle that has not been inspected by Engine World Ltd staff. Therefore correct installation and maintenance are imperative to the performance of the product. Regular servicing as specified in this booklet is essential.

FAILURE TO OBSERVE THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS MAY RENDER YOUR RIGHT TO CLAIM VOID.

Engine World Ltd agrees to repair or replace (at its option) any product which it sells and proves faulty within the period specified by your warranty provided that:

A. the instructions on the fitting documents are observed in total.

B. a 500 mile service is carried out by a reputable garage and must include:
• oil and filter change
• re-torquing of cylinder head and manifolds where possible
• checking and resetting, if necessary, valve clearances
• adjustment of ignition timing
• adjustment of carburettor settings and/or CO readings

C. thereafter regular servicing to manufacturer's specifications every 3000 miles for the duration of the warranty.

WARRANTY CONDITIONS

PLEASE NOTE: Engine Worlds Standard Warranty is a parts only warranty.

1. COMMENCEMENT: This warranty takes effect from the invoice date of the goods and finishes at the end of the period specified on the warranty schedule or at the relevant mileage allowance, whichever occurs first.

2. HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM: If you need to make a claim during the period of this warranty, contact your nearest Engine Wold Ltd branch immediately, advising them of the problem. Engine World Ltd will then advise you how to proceed. Engine World Ltd will not accept liability or responsibility for any claims or costs under this warranty unless you do so.

3. LIMIT OF COVER: The warranty covers the cylinder block and head and all internal components; it does not cover the water pump, starter motor, alternator, induction system, clutch or ignition system. These parts are left on the engine for our testing purposes and form no part of this contract.

4. LABOUR CHARGES: Engine World Ltd only provides a parts only warranty. In the case of an engine failing when fitted please contact Engine World Ltd to arrange collection of the vehicle back to Engine World Ltd for an inspection. If the fault is down to the engine we will endeavour to repair or replace within a reasonable timescale. The price for the collection of the vehicle will be paid by the customer. 

5. OIL LEAKS: Should any oil leak occur with any seal or gasket of any Engine World Ltd engine during the first 30 days or 1000 miles (whichever sooner) it will be covered by this warranty. Any oil leakage after that time will not be covered as it will be deemed to have been affected by factors beyond the control of Engine World Ltd.

6. CYLINDER GASKET: Should any fault occur with the head gasket during the first 30 days or 1000 miles (whichever sooner) it will be covered under our warranty. Any gasket that fails outside that period will be deemed to have been affected by outside factors beyond the control of Engine World Ltd and is not covered.

N.B. Cylinder head gaskets function under extremely arduous circumstances and are susceptible to the conditions of the cooling system of the vehicle. Therefore, as Engine World Ltd has no control over the condition of the cooling system, it cannot accept any responsibility beyond the first 1000 miles.

7. HEAT TABS: All Engine World Ltd engines are fitted with two heat sensitive tabs in order to detect overheating. If the engine is damaged due to overheating as recorded by the tabs the warranty will be void. Similarly if the tabs are damaged or removed the warranty will be void.

8. REPAIR PARTS: If repairs are carried out on Engine World Ltd products, Engine World Ltd reserves the right to supply those parts. The standard of the parts will be determined by Engine World Ltd and will be compatible with the quality of the supplied product.

9. DELAYS: Engine World Ltd will always endeavour to meet the obligations of this warranty as quickly as possible. But it will not be held responsible for any consequential loss or undue delay in repairs being completed. Nor will it be held responsible for any delay in the supply of parts that is beyond its control.

10. MODIFICATIONS: Any Engine World Ltd product that has been used, modified or tuned for racing or competition is expressly excluded from this warranty.

11. TRANSFER: This warranty is personal to you, the person named on the registration card and may not be transferred to any other person or company.

12. WAIVER: This warranty contains all the terms and conditions offered by Engine World Ltd relating to any product sold by it. No warranty condition, description or representation on Engine World Ltd’s behalf is given, except as set out herein and none is implied for anything written or printed by Engine World Ltd or on its behalf elsewhere.

13. Our Warranty is Limited to replacement or repair. NO Allowance will be given for any charges whilst the vehicle is of the road e.g. car hire charges etc.

14. RIGHTS: Your statutory rights are not affected, this warranty applies to the United Kingdom only.
